Top five maxi dresses for summer

On the rare, incidental, once in a blue moon, occasion that there is sun in England, there's one piece of clothing you're sure to see everyone wearing. Maxi dresses. Love them or loathe them these dresses have become summer staples and everyone from VH to LC has been spotted wearing one.

Here are FTFB's top five picks; guaranteed to leave you summer ready.

5.  Missguided.com-£25.99

This pastel coloured dress is perfect for those late night summer barbecues and at £25.99, it's not too hard on the purse either. Pair with this gold cuff from ASOS for that extra touch of sophistication.

4. Forever 21-£14.99

Sigh. Forever 21's is what's right with the world. I love the two tone look of this dress even if colour blocking was *valley girl voice* so last season. Pair with some woven wedges, also from forever 21, to complete the look. Oh, and there's a new F21 shop opening in Bluewater soon, guaranteed to become my new second home.

3. Armani Exchange-£45

This classy maxi dress is perfect for summer date nights, and the embellished keyhole front adds some glam to, what would otherwise be, a plain dress. I love this, it's a little pricey but is definitely worth splashing a few extra "wonga." -On a side note, who actually  says that? Seriously, the adverts are so irritating. Pair with these GORGEOUS gold leaf earings to complete the look.

2. Boohoo.com-£20

I love the vibrant print on this dress and the low neckline gives it a sexy edge; dress it up with brown platforms and gold statement jewellery for that added glam factor.

1. Lipsy £75

This dress is beautiful, it's not your conventional maxi dress and is more queen's garden party than teen beach party and yet that's what I love most about it! It can be worn for pretty much any formal occasion especially the weddings that prop up oh-so-frequently during this time of year. Although it's a tad pricey, it's defiantly makes up for it in style, and even has beautiful strap detailing at the back. A definite FTFB fave.
